چکیده
The instability phenomena caused by converter–grid interactions can be prevented designing controllers with adequate stability margins. Yet, the multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) dynamics of grid-connected voltage-source converters (VSCs) complicate analysis for controller design. To tackle this challenge, article presents a loop-at-a-time VSCs, which not only shows close correlations generalized Nyquist criterion MIMO systems but also enables to quantify margins individual closed loops. Moreover, between loops analyzed. Test cases numerical sensitivity analysis, simulations, and field measurements converter validate theory.

A Generalized-Impedance Based Stability Criterion for Three-Phase Grid-Connected Voltage Source Converters
1 Abstract—The output impedance matrices of three-phase grid-connected voltage source converters (VSCs) are widely used in power system stability analysis. Regardless of how the impedance is modeled, there always exist coupling terms in the impedance matrix, which makes the system a multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) system. As a practical approximation, the coupling terms are generally omitted ...
متن کاملDesign of a Digital Voltage Controller in Single-Phase Grid-Connected Renewable Converters
Power decoupling of pulsating grid side power from constant source side power is one of the paramount issues in single phase-phase grid-connected renewable systems. The principal aim of such systems is the decrease of the capacitance of the decoupled capacitor. However, this causes some problems such as an increase in the total harmonic distortion (THD) of injected current to the grid and bus v...
متن کاملProportional-Resonant Controllers. A New Breed of Controllers Suitable for Grid-Connected Voltage-Source Converters
-This paper is describing the recently introduced proportional-resonant (PR) controllers and their suitability for grid-connected converters current control. It is shown that the known shortcomings associated with PI controllers like steady-state error for single-phase converters and the need of decoupling for three-phase converters can be alleviated. Additionally, selective harmonic compensati...

The recently introduced proportional-resonant (PR) controllers and filters, and their suitability for current/voltage control of grid-connected converters, are described. Using the PR controllers, the converter reference tracking performance can be enhanced and previously known shortcomings associated with conventional PI controllers can be alleviated. These shortcomings include steady-state er...
متن کاملGeneralized-impedance and Stability Criterion for Grid-connected Converters
The output impedance matrix of a grid-connected converter plays an important role in analyzing system stability. Due to the dynamics of the DC-link control and the phase locked loop (PLL), the output impedance matrices of the converter and grid are difficult to be diagonally decoupled simultaneously, neither in the dq domain nor in the phase domain. It weakens the effectiveness of impedance-bas...
